Latinx community members have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. Latinxs make up 36% of the total COVID-19 cases in Yamhill County, but are only 11% of the total population. To address this disparity, Unidos Bridging Community will be providing COVID-19 spread prevention education and outreach to agriculture workers in Yamhill County. We are seeking an outgoing and personable candidate with natural community organizing skills for a full-time temporary field navigator position under the Alianza Poder's Protecting Oregon Farmworkers collaborative project.
Unidos Bridging Community is a 2020 Census Assistance Center for Latinx community members of Yamhill County. The Census Assistance Center Coordinator will provide an effective on-the-ground presence for the 2020 Census in order to raise public awareness, deliver trustworthy information, and provide an opportunity for Latinx community members to receive Census questionnaire support. The Unidos Bridging Community Census Assistance Center is one component of a broader #WeCountOregon state-wide campaign plan to support hard-to-count Oregonians.
We are hiring a bilingual (Spanish/English) staff person to help enroll Spanish-speaking Latinx immigrants of Yamhill County in the Oregon Health Plan.
