Citizenship Classes

Are you a Legal Permanent Resident with a “green card”?  We hope you’ll take the next step to U.S. citizenship with our FREE citizenship classes.

Since June 2012 through May 2017, Unidos Bridging Community and Lutheran Community Services Northwest have collaborated to provide citizenship classes to more than 400 students here in Yamhill County!

We offer three sessions per year, with 12-14 classes in each session.  Fall and Spring classes are in McMinnville. Winter classes are usually in Newberg.

Using a workbook that costs $10 for each student, we teach the American history, government, and civics that is needed to pass the examination given by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

Three sections of classes are offered to meet the diverse needs of the students. There are classes in English only, English with Spanish support, and Spanish only.

The teachers and assistants are community volunteers who enjoy helping immigrant students achieve their goals.

If you would like more information, or wish to volunteer to assist with the classes, please contact Hanna.
